Kvinna till Kvinna is recruiting a new Head of Security.

Application deadline: 25 March 2019

  • The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation promotes women's rights in over 20 conflict-affected countries in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and the South Caucasus. We do so by supporting more than 110 local partner organisations across these regions. Our 130 staff members are equally divided between our head office in Stockholm and our 13 country offices. The regions we work in can change quickly and be volatile. That makes the safety and security of our staff and partner organisations one of our top priorities. We are now recruiting a Head of Security who can join us in implementing and further developing our work with safety and security. *

You will also provide support on risk management according to the ISO 31000 principles. You will be a source of support and knowledge for our managers in their work to prevent and deal with threatening situations or crises that can occur in conflict areas. Future developments you will be responsible for include improving the cooperation between security focal points at our country offices as well as data security.

Essential qualifications and work experience:

  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience, of which minimum two years in conflict-affected areas.
  • Completed professional training in the field of security, such as security management, HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) or equivalent.

  • Experience of working with and/or in civil society.
  • Experience of working independently.
  • Excellent English-language skills, both speaking and writing.

Experience of the following is desirable:

  • Change management, conducting trainings, quality control and/or results management with budget responsibility
  • Working with a multicultural staff body
  • Digital security
  • Working in Swedish

Personality

We are looking for someone with a calm and reassuring personality, who can unite a team and take decisions even in stressful crisis situations. We expect you to know how to lead, support and follow up on change processes in an international organisation in an analytical, well-structured and pedagogic way.

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position. Start date as soon as possible, but no later than 15 August 2015. You will be the sole member of the security unit, which is part of the Resource department. You will report to the Deputy Secretary General. The position is located at our head office in Stockholm, but will require you to travel several times a year, mainly to the countries we work in.

Kvinna till Kvinna has a collective agreement (Tjänstemän Idea, with Unionen and Akademikerförbunden). We apply goal-oriented working model. The nature of our work is such that we only employ women (self-identified or legal). Apart from this requirement, we aim for diversity.
